Sarah Jane Désir hails from Port-Au-Prince, Haiti and is a married mother of two girls. She migrated to the United States in 1992 to attend college at St. John’s University in Queens, New York and graduated from Howard University, Washington, D.C. with a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration and a minor in Hospitality Management. She has a Master’s degree in education with a major in Curriculum and Instruction and a minor in ESOL, English as a Second Language. She also holds a Ed.S. in educational leadership from Regent University, Virginia Beach. Sarah has run her own home license-based daycare, worked in the hospitality industry, and taught special needs students and taught English to ESOL students. She loves reading, spending time with her family, helping her Haitian brothers and sisters navigate the US system, doing research online, and traveling. She speaks French, Haitian Creole, English and is sufficient in Spanish. Sarah Jane is passionate about children and finds purpose in helping parents bering out the best in their children so they can reach their greatest potential. She has worked in organizations such as Montgomery County Public Schools, Trinity School of Early Learning,Amplify, Bicortex languages and Haiti Micah Project where she has gained experience in education and grown and shared her expertise.
